what are you wanting to do..?..some sort of profiling...
I want to put a bullnose on the edge of some travertine. im looking for a uk supplier, there is one on ebay in the states.

You just need a profiling bit to go in a grinder...bit like a router bit but for profiling stone etc..

Like this but you can get them that do it dry..
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGJjz_3Zjl4]YouTube - Profiler B-Series[/ame]
is that an attachment in a standard grinder?

That ones not stan..it's in a variable speed polisher........but you can get them for grinders as well...
This is the type i mean and have an m14 thread for grinders etc..
Harbro Supplies Limited
then you finish the profiles off with wet and dry to get the polish if required..
thx Dave - expensive! ... is there a cheaper one out there for grinders that will cut a 45 degree for birds beak or masons mitre with some sort of jig to get a standard cut depth along the length of the edge?

Can you not do them on your wetsaw..?
never tried, but i will now, i cant see how to keep that little flat edge at the end to stop the mitre being a sharp edge. I thought the grinder idea could be jigged to maybe do that.

It is getting a bit that will cut a 45 champher.. my bridge saw will cut bird mouths no probs and the mason mitre is do-able as well if i raise the blade up and score cut..

if you've had to mitre a sharp edge Stan, just flip your blade back to 90dgs and take the burrs off![]()

Dave and Doug - many thx for your replies, is something I've never had to do for a job, but something i played with. I will have another go when i get the time.
I can see Dougs very obvios suggestion working, i thought there might be some sexy way of making one straight pass through a tool to get that constant little flat edge. I guess as always practice makes perfect - and Im about 3000 miles behind you guys!![]()
... as always - thx for your advice.
