Default Question regarding drills

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a bit of guidance. I've just completed my first paid job doing a floor and upon drilling the holes to fit the door threshold my battery drill gave up the ghost. I do some labouring for a plumber who soda bathroom and kitchen fitting. He has a load of drills. Electric, battery sds big small. I asked him for some advise and he just bamboozled me to be honest. Unfortunately I don't have the money to buy this one for this job and one for that.

I do love my tools and don't mind spending the money cos Im all for buying once and buying right.

If any one could point me in the direction of a bit of an all rounder I would be greatful

I used to use my bosch for mixing adhesive, hole drilling, chiselling, etc. It's a great all rounder and I'll try and remember to check the model tomorrow and let you know

I like makita, hitachi and bocsh all good drills, it's the battery power where the cost lays. 18v is supposed to be good, the 1.3 ah batterys are standard and run down fairly quickly. LI-ION batterys are powerful but expensive. I'd be checking out screwfix and see whats in your price range

Do know that some kitchen fitters have to use battery power now, it's so theres no wires trailing across the floor, trip hazard, health and safety
