I went onto the toolshopdirect website tonight for a look because i have bought from them a few times over the last 6 years, to my shock they have went into administration fron 20th march, seems to be hitting hard lately.
I haven't seen many tool sales about !!! tools seem to have got more expensive unless like me you can haggle a bit,i don't mind paying a fair price but not getting ripped off, toolshopdirect were a quality website from my experience with them, sad to see them like this.

Seems like their "great offers" were trimming their margins too much. Sad though when any business folds!

It isn't the first and unfortunately we all know it wont be the last. Though every time one goes bump the others get the business. May the best 'man' win as they say hey?

Re: tool shop direct,oops !
The reason a lot of these firms profit margins are shrinking is because they have to lower the price in this market whilst the weak pound is pushing up the cost of sale.
In a recent kithen i've just fitted a 'Neff' oven (German) that cost £900, this time last year I could have bought it for £700

That just shows how things change, not many seen this all coming but plenty of older people remember recessions from years ago!
The euro is strong at the minute thats whats pushing the prices up,good time to work in southern Ireland, changing euros into sterling is sweet lately. just a pity there is a heavy recession in there !!

Iye Joe, we are in this for the long haul over here, im too far away to travel to the South. Its just a matter of keeping everything ticking over week by week, month by month. Turned down a new build already this month as i couldnt squeeze it in, 3 bathrooms and a huge open-plan kitchen, without rushing.
