I have one of the orginal DeWalt saws...we were given it over four years ago to field test...I love this saw and we use it a lot. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

thanks for all your advice..i love the look and quality of the dewalt 24000 but aswell as doin the usual 30by30s and travertine etc i do a lot of kitchen splashbacks for a local kitchen company with 4by4s so theres a lot of cuts for switches etc and i think the dewalt might be i bit over the top and awkward for those jobs..correct me if ime wrong coz i doo luv the look of it..thanks again...

you can plunge cut easily on the dewalt it has a pull down arm so i think it would be excellent for kitchen splashbacks and awkward jobs might invest in one soon myself!

can anyone else convince me that the dewalt is the way to go even for doin small(4")tile jobs..i wish i could afford the dewalt and a little rubi 180 but i think that will take me over my budget..has anyone else used the dewalt on small tile jobs(ie kitchen splashes)..one more question..can it cut dry at times on ceramics..i no you shouldnt but we all do sumtimes...right

In nearly 20 years of setting tile, I have owned 1 Target, 2 Felkers, 4 Imers, 3 MK's, 1 Plasplugs (total crap), and the DeWalt that I currently have. It is without a doubt the most useful, all around saw that I have ever owned. It is not a mass-production saw the way the Target was, nor is it as portable as some of the MK's that I owned...but overall it is the best all-around saw for us.

I don't know about cutting dry...that would be a function of the blade and the only blades I buy are for wet cutting...

Size of tiles cut: all the way from 1/2" mosaics all the way up to pieces of stone and Silstone, three feet long and an inch and half thick, cut for shower bench seats!

Also, we have cut bricks on it, pieces of steel trim, flagstones, and shower door metal!

£629 converts to $910.93, which would be a killer price here. Sounds like a good deal!

in over 20 yrs of tiling i have never felt the need to spend so much money on cutters and grinders etc, where the money needs to be spent is on decent blades and cutting wheels, you can buy cheap grinders and cheap cutting machines, the blades/cutting disc are the essential peice of kit...£6, 700 on a cutter, id rather spend it on a holiday!!! seriously

You need to spend the money on good equipment when you have tilers working for you or it will cost you a lot more in the long run :Pete
