I know these have been on offer before but thats cheap and i like the case as it holds a few drill bits ect.
Was going to get the £80 deal from screw fix with the extra battery instead of the 101 piece kit but needs a set of good drill tools anyway!
Offer is only on for 4 days (ends tuesday) but i did read on a forum that if the still had stock let a further £10 will be discounted.
I also got a B&Q trade card through the post so that might get abit more off, let you know!

hard to beat the LI-ION range though, last longer etc.
Makita all the way,i even have their site radio(it runs off my LI-ION battery!!!) very handy

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99
Think I would go the extra battery though, the drill bit sets ( cheapo's ) are cheap and nasty, weigh that against the cost of a battery

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99

I've got the 18v Makita, can't fault it.
The extra battery, would have rather had it cheaper TBH, although it did turn out handy the other day.

I personally think that makita have gone towards the DIY market with some of there products

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99
Makita have started a nasty habit of rebranding cheap accessory packs, I've bought a few on the strength of the Makita name and have been very disappointed! extra battery option for me

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99
If you do decide to buy, make sure it's got the MiMh batteries not the NiCd ones.
I got caught out by a B&Q "special" before and was always waiting for them to charge up
Lithium Ion for me everytime now

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99
The first drill I bought was a De-Walt (14 years back when the gearing was metal) which I still use today! I might get this Makita as a back up, a mate got one a while back which I was quite impressed with for the money. My drill that I use at the moment is a bit heavy to have in your hand all the time... But it does have 3.5ah beat that!!

OMG!!!! I paid £360 for this drill a few years back, you can pick it up for less than £250 now GUTTED! why did I have to look?

I recently got the Dewalt 36v set from Jewsons. Included SDS drill, reciprocating saw, circular saw and torch - £500 plus vat - one only stocktaking clearance.
I note the page that you linked to for that pipe freeze kit was selling them for £1250!

Re: Makita 18v B & Q Deal £79.99
I need a new cordless but the 'drill' set on the B&Q Makita put me off. Now I know that Screwfix do the same but extra battery, guess where I'm going this week

I had a look at Makita, DeWalt and Hitachi as I was after an Impact driver and in the end, after advice from a mate who is a spark and has one, I went for the AEG. So far brilliant and the LED just below the bit has come in very useful. Maybe tell you in a while if it lasts!
