Plasplugs Master tiler
Hi
Have just got the mster tiler from plasplugs, is there any way of cutting 30+cm tiles witout turning the tile or removing the safety guard, little misleading on the box if there is no way of doing this, I have managed to cut about 16cm but then had to turn the tile as the cut tile hit the guard stand.
Thanks for any help
Ron

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
you need to adjust the guard stand.
there are 2 little screws loosen them and the guard will move left to right.

Or buy a rubi next time, pull out guards so handy for drop cuts

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
Only 1 problem with taking the guard off, its like a jetwash !!!, the guard does not slide left or right (thats what I initially thought)
Thanks

Thanks Dave
I assume you mean that you cut 30cm tiles on the Plasplugs, have you removed the guard ?

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
If you cut a tile without the guard keep the tile over the blade then switch on Like ronald says saves getting soaked

ive used many cutters and ive never seen one without the adjustment.
its at the foot of the stand and the screws may be covered in crap but they are there you adjust it when you put it together.

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
Cutter is new, the adjustment if anything on the "L" shaped bracket is at max 2mm because the bracket fits underneath the top bed.
Thanks

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
yeah if i`m reading this properly it happens on mine, what you have to do is push tile while cutting it and as it hits the bar hold tile and push the bar to one side or the other depending which side its hitting then carry on pushing the tile to cut,or adjust the bar either way by eye before cutting it must be when they get knocked or something in transit etc etc.

Sounds like the same thing, so what you are saying is the "L" bracket is slightly bent out of shape and needs to be adjusted ?

i will go and have a look now.

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
Just make sure that the bar and the wheel are inline. If not just bend the bar so it is. It happens a lot due to its flimsy structure.

Yep there are actually 3 holes for the 2 screws, dont think it will adjust that much, could well be that the bracket is not straight (bent on inital install)

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler

mine catches sometimes i just tap it with the edge of a tile.
i just had a look and the screws on mine are on the top it dont look like ive ever adjusted them as the screw heads are full, but when you set it up lay a tile either side of the blade and as you look at it front on let the upright bit favour left more than right as all the cutters ive used catch on the right rather than the left, there should be plenty of scope as you can use a marcrist on the machaine without it catching.

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
mine always gets in the way (i ccouldnt find an allen key at the time to adjust mine so i just bent it out the sodding way (to do a plunge cut)
always getting in the way! ive actually found my long lost hammer so i may re-arrange it some day, on the bright side tho i do have an extension table/platform for the cutter, comes in handy for those 600mm tiles that just need a wee bit trimming off its noggin

Re: Plasplugs Master tiler
I cannot get any answers from plasplugs, been waiting for stock for 3 weeks and eventually i got through and the person said they were the last two in the company still there, not looking good for them, maybe another sign of the crunch
