There's a warranty thing Exclusions: warranty does not cover professional use. Blows that idea then

    And how would they know???

I was stood in line in B&Q taking some unused gubbins back for a refund. The guy in front of me was returning a Ryobi compound mitre saw as it had broken after 3 weeks. The staff "member" asked him if he was a trader and as he had his logoed shirt on he said yes. Then she refused him a refund saying that this was a DIY store and sold DIY kit. She said he should have bought professional tools such as Dewalt/Makita from the "trade" section!

Obvious thing to do is go home - change shirt - return and claim refund/new saw!

    It's a bit cheeky though isn't it, ...

"well you are not some joe bloggs that's only going to use it twice ever" so why do you expect it to last for more than 3 weeks, so no you can't have a refund"

A couple of years ago, i had some small wet cutter from the legendary b and q that i use for kitchens, something stopped working, so i gave it a wash(needent have bothered it had been abused) but took it back with receipt and exchanged it for another. When they asked me if i used it for professional use, i said yes it says professional on box so they had to exchange it!!only cost about twenty quid as well
