Any particular reason why they must be Hoffman?

They must be Hofmann as i do not like Rubi ones.
The plastic handles on the Rubi's make it hard to grip. The Hofmann ones have a thicker grip which is rougher and therefor easier to use in my oppinion.

Almost all of the nippers on the market are made by a company called MightyJaw Tools, including the Hofmann and Rubi nippers. Or atleast I think so.

    Mightyjaw Tools Co., Ltd.

Good - they are excellent nippers and superior to the Rubis that I have used IMO
