Are there any pro's or con's you can think of regarding starter kits that are supplied by training centres? Just wondering, as i'm about to do a course and haven't bought any tools as yet.
Thanks
Scott

Hi scott, i did a course nearly 2 years ago i never bought there tool packages as i bought my own kit as and when it was needed,if you`ve lots of money then its up to you but if you plan what jobs are coming in and when and what you need for the job then buy what you need when needed, and in my oppinion and it is only my oppinion but i dont think you get a good value for money in SOME of the packages out there![]()

Personally mate i would buy what you need when you need it,except of course for everyday tools,i.e manual cutter, nippers,(maybe parrot nippers) spirit level,a couple of notched trowels, bucket trowel, tape measure, string line, squegee, china markers, tile file, sponges and a couple of buckets, sds drill and paddle( cheaper than a proper mixer, just to get you started)
they are the basics you will need to get started, unless i have missed something off,but as said previously some of the tools offered by the course runners are crap.My saying is " pay cheap, pay twice" " you get what you pay for"

Cheers guys, i'll take your advice and buy it as i need it.![]()

Just buy what you need as and when you need it mate, i pick up bits and peices as the job dictates, no point in carting aload of gear around thats never been out the packaging, and no point in spending cash you dont have to, escpecially a new business mate, be carfeull spending loads, you dont know when you might need it![]()

Totally agree with medlar, get the basics, then take each job as they come, if you need tools for it, buy it, and also buy quality, cos cheaps, dear.........
