Highlander - what did you use before this?
(as Dave says, a review would be great after you've had chance to get accustomed!)

Had the Rubi DW200 good cutter but fancid this after reading up on it. Am doing more restoration work and starting to do more Geometrics so good machine for the job.
Will post a review once I have used it.

What is the max size of tile that takes, H?
And why has this thread been moved into the Adhesive, Grout and Prep forum??

Re: Just got my new toy
A review will be interesting as I bought my DW250n instead of one of these. Did I make a mistake, I wonder?

Re: Just got my new toy
A brief summary of my thoughts on my DW250n. Very heavy piece of kit, though I can get it in and out of my car by myself. Motor is powerful and quiet. The water pump throws out enough water to rival the Monsoon and can make a mess if precautions are not taken.
Biggest issue I have though is the fact that it does not cut straight. I have not yet figured out what the problem is, whether it is the Marcrist blade I am using or some inital setting up that is the problem. Having reset my guide bar twice, I am certain that it is square. My feeling is it is a blade problem. The further down the cut I go, there is increasing sideways tension on the blade.

Re: Just got my new toy
Mine is fine russ with the original rubi blade....the marcrist blade is very thin and flex's under tension....one of the reason's i got rid of the marcrist blade from my table saw ...

Yep, I need to try the original standard blade to see if it is better. Might have to save up for a CPC2 blade if the Marcrist is the problem. David at TT suggested dressing the blade first so I will try that as well.

Have you tried cutting slowly and does it still bend?
(No problems with my Monty!

Yep, tried it all 'Dad. doesn't matter how slow, it still drifts.

Sounds like it's all out of alignment then.
Technical term is "wonky"!

Re: Just got my new toy
Possibly 'Dad. I have never used the standard blade yet so I will change it and play around before I start whinging at Rubi!

Why not start a "Dutch Auction" on it? I'll give you a £10 & Two Buckets of Dunlop Profix 4
