ive just got a set of these and going to be using them for the first time tomorow, anyone else use them? am i right in thinking i just apply the silicone, spray with soapy water, spray the shapers with some and them smooth the joint and bobs your uncle, nice silicone joint?

I use masking tape as well. Still spray your smoothing tool with washing up liquid but you don't need to to spray the silicone, although it does help for the final smoothing once you've removed the tape.

i tried to use masking tape but only i could have found masking tape that doesnt stick to anything and i forgot my spray bottle, so i opted for a jug of soapy water and a spray device from a windowlene bottle

Both the Screwfix and Karl Dahm silicone tools work a treat, just a shame that the Karl Dahm ones have the instructions in german.

Bought these a year ago only used them once and Ive not used them since ive opted for a profiling tool from B&Q £1.50 and it gives great results but any profilig tool you must remember to use soapy water with it otherwise you will have a git of a job getting the excess silicon off
