When I tighten mine and slide the tile against it there is a slight gap at the bottom of the bar, you can even see it when you tighten it that the bar twists slightly when tightening, not a majot issue if you know it happens, just a bit of putting at first use as you would expect this to be square! | I haven't noticed No....will look next time i use it...

YHou spend a lot of money on this tool only to have no way of protecting it in transport and storage, a joke in my opinion, I needed a new cutter and I have stuck with RUBI as I have always used them, I hope they show the same loyalty when they release the case to those of us that have bought this cutter prior to the release of the case, we will see, if not, they may get a mail in there inbox from a disgruntled customer, especially as I nearly went with the Montolit

But if you look at the adjustable bar ( slide it off ) there are two ridges that rub against the static bar, it looks as if they are a bit rough, that may be throwing it out a bit. Again it could just be mine, if you don't notice the same then I will think about getting this cutter changed

I have had a Sigma for years and they dont have a case. Never damaged it in any way. All this fuss over a case is stupid IMO.

All this fuss over a case is stupid IMO. | Not so much damage as keeping it away from other dirt and crap during transit. The ruler on the RUBI can quite easily get scratched. Prevention is better than cure. Nearly every tool over £40 these days has a case in some form or another, to keep it protected, also to enable the transit of spares and keep them in the same place as the equipment it is intended for. Nothing worse than hunting around for spares in another box, would be a lot easier to keep it all together.
