| should of got a rubi... | | Not impressed with my new norton tt200em. Seem to spend a lot of time filling up the water tray, every three or four cuts. The water spray up like a fountain, about 8 inches high. Then most of it ends up on th floor, via the drain holes in the motor compartment Knew i should of got a rubi..... | | |

Get to the underside of the table and glue it either side of the wheel. The wheel will still turn but it cuts down the water being pulled up. Yes i have done it many years ago with a few of the 1st Rubi cutters that we had.

| Re: should of got a rubi... | | I have to say my Norton is brilliant. However, we are comparing a table saw to a compact here! I am surprised Norton got it wrong! I found their helpline brilliant when I rang them with a problem on my motor they shipped me one from Luxembourg in 24 Hours and arranged for a fiutter to be there to change it . You can't beat service like that IMO. Why not ring their helpline and tell them the problems and see what they say? They may even offer to replace it rather than have you unhappy.

Dave,
You get what you pay for though mate. I couldn't tell you how pi**ed off I would be if i paid that sort of money and it leaked
However, I think he should go to customer services at Norton first.

| Re: should of got a rubi... | | The norton cutter is about the same size as the rubi cutter i mentioned....when i say table saw , I mean one that sits on a bench/table etc.......it's the old saying "you get what you pay for" and if you tile for a living you need to use tools that will last...
When i first started tiling i used to use cheap wet cutters ( more models about now though) and would go through about 2 to 3 a year which was false economy .....
So i bit the bullit and bought the rubi diamante d200 on recommend and the first one i got was second hand one from a tile shop i was using at the time and after about 4 yrs the cable split next to the motor....so a company owed me some pennies and in exchange i got a new d200 and that was about 3 yrs ago...( still got old one in shed, just needs a cable on) and the 1.2hp motor will cut through the thickest of materials with a good quality blade....
the norton cutter.....
the rubi d200 cutter...
This rubi is also stainless steel , so no rusting.....
The norton cutters are good value for money as well.....
I was in CTD yesterday and they have some that are over £400 and look very well built.....with a sliding table..
Like most tools makers you will have your lower price tag cutters and then the higher price tag cutters ...

Very true even for a £100 notes or what ever they are ..it should still do a reasonable job......if you got such a good response from customer services then i think he should contact them as well....
