I've seen several posts on here about the master tiler's spindle going wobbly. It's a common problem with cheapish wet saws.

If you can afford it, I'm sure getting a higher end tile saw is a good idea. Rubi, Husqvarna, Raimondi, etc... They're all good bets.

Very true marcus...it does seem to be a problem with the plasplug and other cheaper brands.....they do the job...but if you intend to tile for living then i would advise peeps to buy a more reliable cutter......
I have the rubi diamante d200 flat bed with split tilting table....very good machine and have had it for ages.....pricey(around the 600 note mark) but good and powerful......then i have the dw250n rail saw.....both cracking machines.......

I bought the Plasplugs machine a few years back and it had a wobbly spindle so i took it back to B&Q, when they gave me a new one i checked it when i got out to the car. This machine was the same, so back in and this time I and a B&Q assistant check all stock and they were all the same. I got a full refund but on the way home i stopped at Machine mart and tried a machine there, it was ok. Seems you need to try before you buy. I have had the plasplugs for 2 years now and no problems.

When I was at Topps, we had loads of little plasplugs cutters returned. The main problem was that people were using them for more heavy duty tiles, they are fine for ceramics, but give them chunky slate or trav....they give up...Gaz

to be fair to it gaz, its ok for power, just the spindle wobbling.
i was cutting some marble and it was fine just up to the last bit and then it would split off the line and ruin the cut. i was taking it easy, no extra pressure, but that didnt happen when i borrowed my friends cutter later on.

no probs, its not as though ive just spend 180 on it and then changed it for a masterpiuma

Somehow I ended up with two mastertilers, before you reach the last bit of the cut Ed, spin it round and go from other end....Gaz

i have a 240v master tiler and a 110, the 24 works a trat but the 110 had a wonky spindle, so is a pain to be accuarate with, allways keep my right hand thumb on the edge of the tile all the way till its cut throught the tile to prevent chipping of tiles and doenst harm your if youf finger touches the wheel anyway
