Its not the case now, although i know of tilers who have obtained Experienced Worker CSCS cards just by telling the person they have been tiling for x number of years.

NVQ2 can be obtained via EWP through a training centre. Funding may be available but you need to talk to the training centre 1st as i believe they only so many funding places each year.

Once registered for your NVQ you can apply for an extension on your current CSCS card for a further six months. Once that six months has elapsed you must have obtained your NVQ because its rare that you will be granted a second extension.

If you want to do site work then you do need one, and the sooner they are a requirement in order to get a long overdue license for working in domestic situations the better. It will get rid of the chancers and lift our image.

Sounds like a good idea tbh Dom, I think I'll start taking more pictures of the processes and stuff I'm doing, that way if I do decide it's the route to go I have the evidence all sorted.

just started doing my nvq 2 thru ewp, firstly find a college that does nvq tiling courses then make contact asking about ewp route they normally do this although from my experience people taking calls had know idea regarding this route! so important to speak to tutor then you should be able to sign you up with a quick chat and site visit you ll have to make sure your public liability upto date then hey presto start collecting evidence of your tiling etc and references1i must add i contacted Darren at nett and he pointed me in right direction (very helpfull) thanks
    hope this helps
