It looks good to me, and the guy that did it is well happy. Any other method would require a wider silicone joint, which is not a problem, just use the next size of tape. It looks much better than going from thick to thin joints to mask up the uneven surface.
Its ,even, neat and tidy. So how would you guys do it.
Best regards

Ah! now I see where you are coming from. In that case, it appears to have done the job. Would have been even better to have an even gap in the first place though, I am sure you agree.

Yes i do agree, this was his first attempt I believe and I think that he used the 4mm CT, he's will now be using 6mm in the future. We liken the 6mm tape as being the same as using your finger, i.e the same size joint. But to be honest I think that it looks really really good as it is, but if you're a perfectionist then the 6mm would solve the problem for you.

If it's the guy's first attempt at tiling, well done him. Getting the cuts right in the corners is not easy when you first start. Was it his own house or a paying job?

Re: CornerTape - Picture of a finish from using CT
Used CT for a bit of practice in my garage onto plasterboard wall and i was realy impressed. Used it today on tiles and it was difficult to get it to stick to the tiles, then when i tried to peel the clear plastic off it kept pulling the silver foil strip with it, i also found it awkward to apply in tight areas so now not so sure.......sorry mate!

I'm really surprised that you got on better applying it onto plasterboard to be honest all i can say is that the problem that you experienced is normally down to the fact that the surface was not totally clean or dry or that you have a faulty roll.
The surface may look clean but the only way to be sure is to use an ethanol based cleaing wipe, we will be adding this to the range of products. Again, regardless of using CT or not we would always recommend using that type of wipe before applying any silicone as it gives the joint the best chance of lasting over time.
Best regards
Andy

Re: CornerTape - Picture of a finish from using CT
Hi Andy, i had cleaned up the surface of the tiles prior to it with WD40 on a cloth so maybe that had something to do with it?? I`m probably doing something wrong anyway so if you ever end up doing a demo in Maidstone area and i`m about i`d like to see it
Cheers

Re: CornerTape - Picture of a finish from using CT
WD40.........
WD-40 protects metal from rust and corrosion, penetrates stuck or jammed parts, displaces moisture, and lubricates just about anything. WD-40 is also great when it comes to cleaning grease, grime, and other marks from most surfaces.
It's a lubricant, thats why it didn't stick.......brightened my day up no end, that!
