| Poor Quality tiles | | Can anyone help?
Im in the middle appartment block refurb, we ve fitted some 200x100 tiles (brick bond) and now the lights have been put on its showing alot of lips. I know down lights dont help, but when ive opened a few boxes of tiles, checked some and found some of them to be like bananas for example a steel rule lenght ways across the tile and you can fit a 2mm spacer under the rule. ive had the rep out from the manufacturer he took some away then came back to me saying the ve been back through Quality control and passed and nothing they can do. Any Advise on my next step as this is going to cost me big time, or where i stand legally Trading Standards maybe?

| Re: Poor Quality tiles | | Hi dp
These arent a hand made tile there a english standard contract tile didnt want to mention the manufacturers name at this stage. I understand you havnt a leg to stand on regarding shading issues once the tiles are fixed, but it dosent state anywhere on the box that the fixer should check for quality. We ve fixed 24 000 tiles on this site we cant be expected to check all those surely?

| Re: Poor Quality tiles | | Not going to help you I know but I used to make it a rule to tile with the lights on even in the day if they were fitted. Especially downlights and spots. They are a pain in the arse even if the tiling is good they show faults that aren't even there with the shadowing they cause.
