mosaic tiling prices

Got a customer who wants his kitchen tiling with mosaic tiles what should I be looking for before accepting the job and more important what sort of price should I be looking to charge per sqr metre.

As a rough guide, they say charge per metre to fix what the tiles cost per metre. Mosaics can be a pain to fix hence the high price. Some tilers charge in the region of £60 - £80 per square metre to fix mosaics!!

If I was you, I would be looking for near perfect walls to tile onto if the tiles we're propper mosaics on netting unless they are mosaic effect ceramic tiles, becuause mosaics on a netting background will follow every lump, bump and dent in the walls.

Main thing I find with mosaics is the fitting isn't really much longer, it's just the grouting that can take a lot longer, it all depends on the mosdaic size.

Generally, I'd charge £5 to £10 more per sqm for them, depending on the mosaic size.

Tips in fitting mosaics as follows. Use a small notched trowel (3-4mm). They normally come in pads of tiles, you should fix these brick bond style. Ensure walls are good regarding flatness otherwise you will have big problems. When fitting pad of tiles to wall, press home using grout float for a nice even look. Use a white adhesive as the grout lines can be a pain to keep clean as there are so many of them when fitting mosaics. Here endeth the lesson!! - Lol

Thanks for the response get the drift flat walls are key and anywhere from £30 - £50 per sqr metre would be reasonable.
