| pricing!! | | hi lads, could i have your opinions on a job. i keep looking at it and thinking am i being greedy or in fact too cheap. i've got a figure in mind based on my day rate but something about it just isnt sitting right so wondered if you could give me an idea of what you reckon is about right. job is a bathroom to be tiled floor to ceiling, customer will do all the prep so its ready to go for me. labour only, 15m2 wall tiling 400x200 ceramics, no windows or ledges. good condition plastered walls. shower area being tanked. 3m2 floor 330x330 ceramics. no more ply to be laid for tiling. got to remove old suite and fit new one, small amout of pipework involved, just moving toilet and basin 6" to left. bath needs sinking 30mm into partion wall to accomodate new size and shower moving 6" to allow screen to be fitted. thats about it, i know we all have different rates around the country but dont want to keep going in too cheap!! anyone think there should be a minimum we go for on a refurb???? cheers dave. | | |

| Re: pricing!! | | Matey, I'm based 'down south' so depending on your area prices will vary. Going on your post I'd be looking for 525 for the walls based on 35 quid per msq, 130-150 for the floor (day rate) and 550 quid for the plumbing side....Call it 1200 quid plus a good mark up on mats!! | | |

#7 | | Tilers Forums Arms Member | Re: pricing!! | | Hello mate, I've had to do a similar bathroom recently, also down south. Charged £950 all in. Got a plumber mate of mine to do the plumbing, easier as if there are any problems, there always is with plumbing, he could fix it there and then, £50 for him (Top lad, we help each other out, super business relationship, we get each other work!) Took him less than 3 hours to move the sink 3 foot and move the toilet about the same. New suite, no bath recess though.
Hope this helps. | | |

| Re: pricing!! | | God struuuuth.....!!!!!
I feel like I'm really under selling myself here,
Just did a quote this morning for 8sq mtr wall tiling in a bathroom, using large format porc (approx 250mm x 400mm) one window to go around.
Floor is 2.5 sq mtrs glue and screw ply, and lay granite tiles.
I charged him £350 for labour, plus the price of materials. | | |
