Ok since Dave has shown us what a great job he did on his sunroom floor recently, I thought taht I would post some pics of a job in prgress of a bathroom that has had some serious water damage. The scope of works for the job are as follows:-
1. demolish old bathroom and remove fixtures and fittings
2. Determine the extent of the water damage and rectify
3. Re-configure plumbing to clients specs
4. Re-sheet walls
5. waterproof
6. Install new tiles
7. install new fixtures
As this job is an insurance claim (I do work for several insurance companies) the scope of works must be followed to the letter any deviation from this and the insurance company will need to be notified, and work will have to be reassesd.
It also gives the newbies a chance to get familar with the type of work we do down here and the problems and damage leaky showers can potentially do if left un waterproofed.
There are no pics of the actual demolition as I was called away to another job and let the guys I get to do this part get on with the job, Just frees my time up a bit to do other stuff.
1st pic shows a section of wall framing that has completly faild due to water leaking in behind the wall. Will need to be replace.
2nd pic shows the extent of the water damage affecting the entire lower half of the wall framing all this will need to be rectified.
3rd & 4th pics shows the wall framing that has been fixed.
5th & 6th pics show the re-configured plumbing work from behind the shower recess
7th & 8th pic show the shower recess sheeted and ready for tomorrows job Waterproofing.
Pic 9 shows what I should be doing other than bathroom renovations. Catching giant BARRA with my brother in-law Pat. A bad days fishing beats a good days work IMO.
Will be doing the waterproofing tomorrow so will post the pics of that process tomorrow night Enjoy!!!
Cheers Mick
