Default Sub floor preparation

i am getting ready to install a tumbled marble tiles. we removed the paquet flooring to find that the paquet had been glued directly to the subfloor. we weren't able to remove the glue in some areas. does it matter if we remove all the glue before installing the underlay for the tile?
