| Re: how do i do this then??? | | What I do trebor is suspend two wires perpendicular with the floor at a height where I can tilt my weight forward and reach the floor. Then I attatch myself by a harness to them and ' hover 'suspended above three foot of the surface....and simply apply the sealer. I got the idea off the film mission impossible, saw Tom Cruise doing it. The simple ideas are often the best

| Re: how do i do this then??? | | If you thought you could do that maybe your best sticking to ceramics or doing some back ground on stone
If its you 1st one you maybe want to get it right and thats why you get paid more for stone isnt it
Absolutely no joke !!! tiler

| Re: how do i do this then??? | | it's my 1st crack at tiling wetdec, (i'm not a tiler) doing my own kitchen floor, think i should have chosen something easier than travertine with 4 different sizes. looks ok though, just need some tips on finishin off. it's just that i've read on here that some seal before grouting. so if i have to give it it's second coat within 4 hours, i thought thats how long i'd got to grout it inbetween. | | |

| Re: how do i do this then??? | | Trebor thought you were a tiler m8 sorry on that score. If your sealer is a water based one then you could seal them before grouting fella if not you best wait untill they are dry, on average 3 days.
If the travertine is honed then go steady and grout it whiping the residue off the tiles when it turns cloudy. The trick is to rinse your sponge after each pass and keep it as dry as possible. When you are done walk away then go back an hour later and whipe it again.
Then you need to let it dry out before buffing it off with a dry cloth, hoovering then sealing.
So you see what I meant stone carries a premium of up to £15 a m2 extra to lay, in a lot of cases its difficult to see exactly what some tilers provide for the extra money which is taking the pi**
Be lucky if you need more just ask tiler
