Default TTA

Just as a matter of interest!!! I wondered how many fixers on here were members of the TTA?

hey dave

shouldnt the tta be paying you to endorse them! ;0)

i think they are the only organisation that i would pay to have on my letterheads etc but that would be it. i think they inc your public liability ins as part of the annual fee so its not too bad . i honestly think that your customers are the main people we should care about regarding opinions but the tta are getting a good name so as i said, if i were to pay one organisation they they'd be it...it all helps with your professional image i suppose.

I'm just about to make a 'Scheme' (section of the forum) listing all the tilers that have taken out the insurance via the forum. The insurance is much much cheaper than TTA registration fee's. I'll be making a logo to wear and a page for the tilers customers with a vetted profile on it and will list the proven experience and 'time served'. It will show the tilers is competant just them being a member of the forum as they and their customers can get answers right here from all the companies registered with TTA providing their tech support etc. And best of all it shows the tilers is supporting the forum as much as the sponsors are.

There will be a few other features for it but that'll be the basis of it. And I think it'll be launched before / around the show.

Just to keep you posted on it.

I'm pretty sure we have more tile fixers registered than TTA. I'm just working on the companies now.
----
p.s. let me know your thoughts on it people.

I'm not saying we'll be an association. Nor will I be 'selling' it like that. It's just a win win win situation for the customer, the tiler, the companies providing the advice and the forum. So it has to be a good thing.

I was considering the TTA but on investigation I found out of their 770 ish members the actual fixers only make up about 7% of their membership. Which is under 90 fixers are members.

This makes me ponder another thing "Approximately How many fixers in the UK are there"? Hmmmmmmm!!!!

I was a member of the TTA since they started, not anymore though, We were paying a few hundred pounds a year ( rate is charged on your turnover ) all we ever had were customers looking on the TTA website after another 'tiler' messed up there bathroom/ kitchen, to get some professional advice from a TTA member in the same area, I was dragged into approx 20 court cases where i had to give written statements of my opinion on bad workmanship - of course without any pay for my time.

Grief, Grief, Grief.
Logo does look good on the Vans though !
