Default Booked on at a Plastering Course monday

Just booked onto a plastering course on monday. Thought id take advantage of the quiet period im having to expand my knowledge of different trades.
Nice thing is y dad has nicely said he will pay for it as he wants e to plaster his front room when i'm finished.

A not gonna take plastering as a full tie occupation as i know its takes years of practice and a lot of hard work. I'm just gonna use it to aid me to understand more about how to apply plasterboards use dot and dab and other techniques prior to tiling.

I also need to do a few rooms in my house so am sure a gonna get something from this.
----
Just to those who tile on here i heard they give you a rubbish toolkit to use on the course. What tools shall i buy to get me started. shall i just buy a marshaltown trowel

cheers fellas. just been to B&Q to price up the plastering tools. Ive been told of a guy who did this course that the tools are crap especially the trowels so i bought a Ragni 14 inch trowel. not the cheapest but not marshaltown either. The course is in prestwich, manchester.

I can't give you any advice on tool's but i would like to ask a question if that's ok.

Do you have to pay for this course?
The reason i ask is i know of about five (so called )tiler's who are now teaching and the reason they have the job is because they could never earn money as a real tiler ,so am just assuming that if you pay for someone to teach you plastering or boarding(dot and dab),then these people are also not able to make money in the real world (and god now's there's not many great plasterers out there to start with).
Now before anyone say's anything am not saying all teacher's are inadequete but the bulk of the one's i have come across are(How many people do you know who spread the back of the tile instead of the wall and call them self teacher's?)

yes a paid for the course, i know a lad who did this course at the place and he said it was good. to be honest i dont really care about what they do or have done, if i can learn what i paid for, its up to me to put the effort in and make money out of it.
The tiling course i did was a load of crap, but i knew i liked it and i tought myself everything i needed to know.
I just use it as basics or a kick up the backside to get on instead of working in a dead end job
