| What do you guys think | | Hi All
Need some advice please,
Just tiled a bathroom for someon ei know, the corner of the wall bowed in and i had to start to pack the tiles a bit , i only had white star, so i packed out the last few tiles by about 10/14mm, i have now left the tiles for about 5 days to dry out before grouting,
Will they be ok,
If not i will have to take the tiles off and redo the last few with bagged gear.
Any advice?

| Re: What do you guys think | | yea a bit annoyed,
I quoted before the bathroom fitter screwed the aquapanel in, thought to myself that great nice and flat walls, but this one wall just bowed at the end,
I told the customer about it and i guess we will see on saturday, i will check all the tiles first. if they are not stuck down i will get them off and use some bagged stuff, it is only 6 tiles.
how deep would you fit tubbed gear and how deep would you fit bagged?

| Re: What do you guys think | | For future reference...get yourself a plasterers straight edge or use your longest level and check the walls when you go to price up, that way you will know exactly what you are dealing with, also... you can then work it into your price should you need to if the walls are bowed. If work by someone else has been carried out in between quoting and starting the job always check with an edge or level...Mark. | Plastering & Tiling Solutions. |

Dispersions and most cement adhesives are usually a 3mm to 6mm bed....any thicker then it is wise to use a thick bed adhesive.....or make good the walls before commencing tiling.......

#8 | | Ex Pro Tiler | Re: What do you guys think | | The problem with building out dispersal adhesives is
1. It loses integrity
2. It takes ages to cure
3. It shrinks back, therefore tiles with the thickest bed will not now be flush with the others, it can be quite dramatic and cause bad lipping......Gaz |

| Re: What do you guys think | | Yea, P&*%ed off with myself,
I just hope by leaving it 5 odd days i will know if it has set,
If not i will get them off, will not be that bad as it is only a few tiles and i have to grout the rest of the room and floor so by the time i have done that they should have set,
You live and you learn,
How far can you build out with rapid set and flexible rapid set?

If it is BAL then they say up to 6mm.......this is the finished bed once you have pressed the tile into place.....
