Default Access to trap in shower tray

Hello and Happy St Davids Day (I'm English )

Now my problem - today off to retro fit a new shower tray and cubicle, never did this on the PTS course.

I will have to lose the bottom few rows of tiles but the tray was poorly fitted on a raised plinth to accommodate the trap and allow access ( although I think it was the ease of fitting that was the reason for doing it this way).

Customer wants the plinth removed if possible - I can see a way to do it but how do you give access to the trap if the shower tray is fitted to the floor?

The previous occupant tiled the floor - dreadful job - with slate - do I need to cut an access panel in the floor then re-fix the tile to this?

She has said that if I cant do it without a raised plinth then that will be okay, but it would be nice to try.

Any suggestions? I'm off there in under an hour - might be a tall order then?

I seem to be getting all the crap fiddly jobs

Looks like it was

I'll rip out the old and see what I have to play with and look back later

cheers

Default Re: Access to trap in shower tray

In answer to my own question

What looks simple usually isn't

If it looks involved it will be

What a nightmare - in the end I made the floor safe and have left her to decide which way to go

Needs at least 2 walls boarding out and crap slate floor on hardboard removing - tiles keep popping

Pity no one knew anything about shower trays 2 days ago - could have saved me a lot of hastle
