Whats the best way of getting up floor tiles off a wooden floor?

I have to quote for removing 5 square metres of floor tiles
from somebodys bodge up where they have had tiles directly onto floor boards (tiles moving and grout cracking).

Also, just wondering how long approx this would take and how much to charge.

Any help appreciated.

hammer and chisel mate..go carefully...don't want to smash the boards to bits.....can't really say how long coz you don't know how well stuck they will be....

remove as much adhesive as you can ...you might have to use a flexi self leveller then ply over...just depends on how much you can get up...good luck...

thanks for that, just wondering what condition the floor boards will be in if i rip them up, because they said they had mold problems, so if the floor boards are moldy and damp what would you do with them?

replace them if needs be then board over, 12mm min or 6mm backer baord with a bed of adhesive to take and gaps!

If the boards are as bad as that...............and the room is empty...........Then you could rip the lot up..........boards and tiles.

Replace whole area with 25mm ply

replace with 25mm ply - i like the sound of that. That would be more cost effective from the customers point of view then getting a joiner to put new floorboards in and then putting plywood on top then wouldnt it?

Would you charge the same to ply out a room with 25mm as you would with 12mm ply - just the extra for the costlier materials?

Hopefully it wont come down to that - but thought i'd prepare for worst case scenario.

No i'd charge a little more as it will take longer imo as you will need to be more careful, you dont wanna go thru the ceiling!
