Default Large tiles

If you use a tub adhesive on large format ceramic tiles, apart from the slippage what are the other problems?

The simple answer is Do Not Use It.
Tub adhesive dries using air - it in effect dries & the moisture evaporates outwards through your grout lines. Any large format tile applied using tub adhesive is likely only to dry around the perimiter of the tile & not the centre. Always used cement based. This dries using a chemical reaction & hence does not need air.
When using a cement based adhesive on Gypsum Plaster, make sure that you are using the manufacturers recommended primer. Some cement based adhesives will "blow" & tiles are likely to fall off. I use Mapei adhesives - they have a primer called Primer G - which I always use in these situations. Never had a problem.
Some people use PVA - I avoid this simply because Mapei advise the use of Primer G.
Hope this is of help

just to add to my previous point - if at all possible you could increase your waiting time befor grouting from 24 hours to uo to a week

Will find out price for you. Not that more expensive, at leats the job is done correctly.
Hey, what's the point in talking about a tile Federation if you are not prepared to do things the correct way and cut a few corners to save a few quid ??
No offence meant

That was mean' t to be light hearted mate... of course I use primer, as well as PVA. As and when it dictates.

Inabit.
