Default tiling up to door facings

When tiling up to door facings/surrounds and the tile is protruding out further than the facing, what do you guys do?Do you try and wedge the facing out further than the tile,if possible, or run silicone down the join,or get new facings?Any advice please, jst trying to get the best look......Cheers graham.

Hi
I think I had this problem - original door frame and newly plasterboarded walls led to a very small edge to work to - okay for wallpaper or paint but tiles were proud by some way. My solution - I added a thin wooden bead all round frame. Made a feature of it - sanded down and painted looks good. - hope I understood you
