She is very happy with the job though so theres alot more work from this customer in the future, pricing will be different next time. | That was my point exactly when I responded to his question earlier I am glad at least one person agrees with me. I still think he will be working very hard for his £830. His floor alone has 600 tiles, quarries at that, which will need to be wet cut really to get a nice finish.

| Re: am i overcharging???? | | This pricing game is an odd one. In fact I posted last week with what I had quoted for a 11m kitchen floor and a 3m bathroom floor. 396 inc materials. Not one person thought I had overpriced yet from the reaction of the customer they obviously thought I had and didn't get the job.
Has anybody used the line that you will try and beat a more competitive quote if you can or is it not a done thing ?

Has anybody used the line that you will try and beat a more competitive quote if you can or is it not a done thing ? | I am of the impression that certain mambers of the public have no idea what is involved in doing a good tiling job. Your price you quoted seemed absolutely fine to me. if the customer feels they can get a job they are satisfied with then that is their perogative. Don't waste time worrying about it, move on to the next estimate. Stick to your policy of pricing, charge what you think you are worth. if you never get any jobs then maybe something is wrong, but at your cost given above, i don't think so.

I didn't actually notice the size of the tiles in the post, and yes, that's a lot of tiles.
If I had quite a bit of work on then I don't think I would take on this job for that amount really thinking about it.
As grumpy said, it's a lot of tiles for even just the floor.
