Default Tiling on chipboard flooring

Hi

Can anyone help me please & explain the procedure for tiling ceramics on chipboard flooring.

It's in a kitchen so i need to ply first........

How thick a ply should i use.

How far apart do i screw it down.

Do you put anything under the ply or just lay on the chipboard flooring..... What if there are dips or bumps, should i remove any high spot & fill in any holes?

Any feedback would be very grateful

Mikee

You might want to use a flexi leveller before over boarding to fill those dips etc or the boarding will just screw down into those low bits etc....

Hi Mate,

If you require any guarentee to be valid on the products you use then read the instruction on the back too. Some manufacturers will only guarnetee their adhesives etc if you have tiled over ply etc of a specific thickness eg. min of 18mm etc.
