Default help!!! dont think i've got enough time

Hi all
i need some advice
i'm a part time postman at present and dont finish till 2pm and i really dont like it anymore, i used to but now to many changes for my liking like so called flexi time where u have to work over your time for nothing, and fed up of being cold wet and stressed when they dump you in middle of nowhere and say get on with it with no map or anything, then bol#@k u when you cant finish it.so i'm all ready and booked up to do a week at nett on 10th march so i can get out.

ok basicaly what i need to know is if i dont finish till 2 i wont be able to get to customers houses till 3ish, and then how late is it acceptable to stay in some1s house cos i think i'm only gonna be able to bout 3 hours work before i have to start cleaning up.cos i think i'll prob be in the way if i'm there till 8 or 10pm and don't think people will like it.and i wont either as i have to get up early.
so i'm thinking if thats all i can do it will be taking me over a week to do a small bathroom which isn't good enough really is it.
any other postmen/women who have done this.
please help me. how long does it usually take a new tiler to do a kitchen or bathroom.
any advice welcome.
lots please
p.s any one else going to nett on 10 march
thanks guys sorry so long and for the story of a postman

i work full time permanant 6 till 2 ina ****ty job like yours lol and tile after this ,i usually do 4 to 5 hours of tiling on evenngs and all day sat /sun . most ppl dont mind cause they dont have to leave the keys to the house to a stranger while they are at work. its gets knackering at times but till they give me a decent reduncancy package at work or the amount of tiling work is enough for full time im stuck. just use the part time role to build up confidence and lts of contacts. tony

Hiya mate. im a postman to, dont finish till 2pm now, really rubbish now and they send me everywhere with a map and a bag thats to heavy.

Ive been doin this for about 6 months now. im gonna get a transfer to my local sorting office in about 4 weeks to do 6pm - 10pm. this way i have allday everyday to tile.

But ive done bathrooms and kitchems doing after work, mainly on my days off and at weekends.

You have to tell the customer this. offer a good quote and explain, if its cheap enough youve got the job. you can get a bathroom done on a sunday your day off and 2 half days.

Do this untill you build up a good order book then tell the post office to shove it. thats what am gonna do cos i know i wont be working all day and all night in the summer...

Hope this helps. p.s Where you from

thanks guys. sounds good.
i tell ya what i really cant wait for the day when i'm good enough and fast enough to go in to work and give them my notice with a huge cocky smile on my face or just wait till i fall out with one of the managers again and tell them in no polite way what i think of them.they've screwed me over so many times i really wanna do the same back.

Mate, i have been tiling 31 years and you cant describe it as regular work. The grass is greener as they say.
