I would agree, everyone has a price they deserve.
go hunting for small private jobs, homeowners at work all day, so you can go slowly and figure out any problems with out some one on top of you....
Would not like to see you give days free , and still have someone watching over you putting you under pressure. IF, and i do stress that, you choice to give it away, ensure the guy ain't going to have you mixing adhesive and dragging tiles up stairs non stop. If it works well for him, make sure it s beneficial for you both.
Good luck, you 'll have no problems with the approach ya have. At the end of the day, while you have to be good, and know what you're doing in this game, it ain t rocket science, so you can make up for what you don't know , by taking great care, attention to detail ,and patience. and voila.... you'll be a quality
tiler.
