Default Yellow pages

Hi,

Received a call today from Yellow pages, they said I could have a 1.5cm x6cm box add ,bout the size of a juicy fruit chewing gum,for £106 or interest free at £10.60 a month.
It comes out in April, and I dont start paying till May.
At first when he rang I told him to save his breath, not interested yet,but when he explained the price,I was quite surprised.
I asked him 'whats the catch' he said there isnt one,its that simple.
Im thinking of going for it as it aint gonna break the bank, and could soon pay for itself. What 'd'ya rekon Guys and Gals.

Cheers,
Vinnie.

sounds about right for trying to find anything on yell. may as well go with the pages, first job in will pay for it and if you never bother again you'll still find you're getting calls years after

Im doing the book this year, £300 for mine, adverts summit like 6cm x 6cm.

I remember when my dad used to advertise in the Yellow pages for his car hire company, advert cost was over £20,000, but that was a full coloured card insert "first one in the Leeds Yellow book, plus a full standard page and a half page.

A lot of money, but it drummed up over 80% of our work back then.

Yellow pages....waste of time if you ask me. been there and done it , wouldnt do it again, yell.com is not to bad though. I suppose results vary on the area your in. where I am there are gazillions of tilers in the big yellow book, so not worth it for the money.

I can't make my mind up about yell.com myself because I can't understand why there is such a dramatic difference between peoples experiences.
How come some people say its a waste of time got nothing from it and then others find it few calls a week?
Could it be something to do with the area your in or the quality of the advert?
It's a mystery.
