I get mine for about £26 I think. Local tile shop in Inverness.covers about 5m2 per bag so you would get away with about 9 bags. About £285 inc vat I make it @ £27/bag.

Ive been quoted £37.63 a bag at Retail and get 25% off that, £28.22, so cost would be £253.98 + VAT = £298.42!

Still considerably cheaper than BAL coming in at just over £500!!!

However after speaking to the Ardex tech people they said that in my case, a brand new build not yet lived in, it maybe best to lay ditra or other delaminating membrane to allow for the movement caused with the house heating up and cooling down etc as its been empty and as soon as they move in the heat could well cause shrinkage etc.

The adhesive can cope with that but the tile cant!

Hmmmm!

Interesting response that from Ardex. Will bear that in mind if I ever get a new build to tile.

Would he be happy to re-tile though in 6 months if things start to crack or come loose? What is the long term cheapest option?

Personally Holohana mate, I would divert your valuable time to giving service to people that appreciate your concern and endevours. I expect that if you do the job, it will come back and bite you on the bum in a few months!

Thanks for all the advice on this thread. I know it's deviated somewhat since I started so apologies for hijacking my own thread!!!

I just wanted to show the finished job. I'm really impressed with the adhesive and the sound-deadening has been commented on my the customer too.
