Default Minimum charging (bathroom floors)

Do any of you guys exercise a minimum charge policy when it comes to bathroom floors requiring cuts round toilets and sinks?

If so,

Can you give an idea of your min charge?

I would imagine a day rate as this is the case for design vinyl tile etc. Let me know what you think

Minimum charge would be £150 but I would remove the loo and pedestal to save time

As BigT - I'd charge a minimum £150 for the day, also remove sink & loo, checking that no major alterations will be needed to plumbing / wastes.

Whatever your day rate is, normally between £120 - £150 depending on your area.

I remove sanitary ware myself. Zurich covers me for work associated with tiling. This includes "basic" plumbing. I've been taught the basics over the years by plumbers though.

Yeah, definitely a nicer/neater finish when sanitary ware is removed, can also save time depending on how quickly you can remove the sanitary ware.

Billy i know exactly what you mean m8 but there is the issue here that the customer might not want to pay for the extra cost of removing sanitary ware and if you really want the job then you either do it or biote the bullet and take it out and do it free.

I either tell them to get plumber in to move or I'll quite happily cut around, never takes long and with plenty of practice is very neat.
Get the plumbers to do their job and they'll pass the tiling work your way.

What do you guys use to get the shape around toilet if you can't remove it.
Have got a nightmare one to finish off on Monday. Cant remove the toilet & has so far taken ages to get the cut 'perfect'. Just as I was losing the will to live with the damn thing I found the old lino that had been removed from the toilet floor & can now use that as a template.

What other methods do people use? Solder wire? Profile tool?

Cheers
