Grumpy
wouldn't it be easier to do wot smokie said but instead of dividing by 9 he does it by 11 and thats how to get m2?

i usually measure walls- top - bottom (say 8ft)
- left - right (say 8ft) = 64sq ft divide by 11 =5.8 m2

i usually do same with floors - wall - wall = ** divide by 11 = **m2

then to make sure you have enough tiles round up the m2 or add an extra m2 on to quote, hey presto plenty of tiles for everyone! works for me!!

Lets say that one side is 254cm and the other 355cm.
Then you have 2.54 X 3.55 = 9.01 sq mtr.
Then add a sq mtr or 2 for your off cuts.
If awkward shape do en-block and add together
works 4 me m8 good luck.

alright mate it all depends on tile size, grain effect and whats got to be cut around and take in to account for the odd breakage and imperfections. The Norm is about 10% for cuts
