    Default Width of grout

    Hi all, was wondering if there was a standard grout width for each size of tile or if its entirely down to the customers preference?

    Usually 2mm for walls and 3mm for floor but no real standard. Those measurements are british standards.

    Cheers sir ramic, it helps if i can quote the british standard,2mm even for big tiles, say 60x30?

    It all depends on what you & the customer want.

    We carry spacers from 1mm through to 5mm, Have a box of sevens but never use them.

    Think british standard state minimum 2mm.

    For me grout is the weak point of the project.Often when i look at a job that is a few years old(especially when water is involved)the grout lines look a little nasty.I try to keep grout lines to a minimum when I have a choice(adhering to british standards)
