Anyone any ideas of the best way to tile on top of a circular drain inspection cover in a cellar. Obviously the cover needs to be accessible .

Yes its a sealed unit. Sorry no photos . Cover is approx. 12 inch in diameter



You will need to get a recessed drain lid that you can tile into, similar to the sort landscapers use on patios.

have you a link to one similar.
is it a sewer inspection , ie a aj type . what brand is it, wavin etc.
is it flush to the floor

I have tiled a recessed (purpose made) unit before. I did this by fixing backer board to the base, then laying tiles onto this so level with the top surface. I have heard of others using slc or just fixing with suitable adhesive. My method has never failed. Will be interested to see how others have done this.

Something like this may help? They're what we use, all bathrooms here have a drain away in the floor and they're made to fit flush with tiles
