Usual from builder trying to do a screed.

Did you feather round the high points you had marked?

4 bags mate..... got on it with the sanding block and managed to get it down a fair bit. Knackered now though! Couldnt use the grinder as walls all painted etc

From looking at the screed closely you could see the wave marks where it was poured from cement mixer but never levelled

Take it the plumber forgot to put a waste in that shower floor.and it has to much fall

Bluddy builders why cant they stick to building (and maybe get it right for a change) instead of trying to do other trades

Im having a right mare with these bloody conservatories at the moment, they trough them up in such a rush, slap the screed down, get paid and do a runner. I had one 2 Weeks ago and it went out by 25mm over a 1200 level!

I had to slc of course, the customer was unhappy as he had just paid for a new screed so I had to have a falling out with a certain very well known conservatory company. They paid up in the end tho.

Shocking but all too common. My old man used to do conservatories and they ended up using the same one guy for the screeds as soon as they found a good guy. They do just rush them and assume most wont notice. Bad if the customer ever wanted carpet down as you'd stub your toe in the middle of the floor with some floors!

The problem is that a lot of customers think that it is a good thing that it is done so quickly

I was tiling on a new build extension around christmas time and the 4mtr x 4mtr timber floor was all over the place, just over an inch from one end to the other as there was also heating mat going down I ended up using a total of 14 bags of slc.

I've had 2 conservatories recently where the floors have been nothing short of terrible, much worse than the one above.Ive also done a kitchen recently which was 6 sqm where the builder got in someone special to screed it. I had to use 6 bags of self levelling just to be able to tile on it.I don't know how they could get it so wrong.

Some screeds are absolutely shocking. My first job of the year was 45m, which the builder had alreaday tried to SLC over the screed. Around 30m needed levelled and I used 14 bags for it. Ouch.
