Question Timing

I have a job coming up which is causing me a bit of a problem.
A client is having a new kitchen fitted on 14th Jan 2008 and wants me to tile the walls and floor, also there is a conservatory and utility room.
What is the best plan for the old tiles to be removed and the backsplash and kitchen floor be tiled. ??

if possible try andremove old tiles two days before kitchen refit, also try and lay new floor tiles before new kitchen goes in not always possible as old one needs to be out not much extra cost onless it is a very big kitchen ( less futtery cutts)also needs time to cure before kitchen guys trample all over it, they wont care.then when fitted (kitchen) do splashback. try and do rest of work while they fit kitchen. always hard to work out onless you see job, but hope it helps

Personnally i would get as much of the kitchen prepared as i could and wait for the new one to be fitted before laying any tiles on either floor or wall. Prepare floors in conservatory and utility as well. Do all tiling when kitchen fitters have gone.

Tiling kitchen floors before units are installed is fraught with danger. If you tile the floor square to the room ,tiny slither cuts can be maybe seen against the plinths of units.....if you tile the floor after , you will mark out the job square to units and to the largest cuts......Gaz

as gaz sez ..if you tile before it is goin in... it hard to establish where all your cuts will be and to get a good even finish............
