Can you do anything on price? My stock answer to that one, "Yes I can make it more expensive if you like, but that is what I charge to tile a bathroom/kitchen of this size to the standard that you require and expect for that price" Usually works and never drop my prices. I always tell customers if they can get it done cheaper then that is their choice but something will be compromised on the job, either the quality of materials or the workmanship!

Thankfully, I've never had that with tiling but have will solid wood flooring. They didn't question what random meant but they bought the stock. They thought it would have a pattern like Laminate lol

A tiler friend of mine did a conservatory for a customer, once the job was complete the customer refused to pay because they didn't like the tiles now they were down and said they were going to change them. My friend went out to his van and came back with his hammer and said he would save the next tiler the trouble of taking them up by breaking them now. The customer couldn't pay him quick enough, it was just an excuse to try and get out of paying.
