What grout colour looks best with travertine?

Doing a bathroom at the moment and have house to myself as customers have gone on holiday while I'm at it, the tiles are actually Wickes travertine look ceramic tiles but look decent enough.

They did mention white grout but personally I think beige/Ivory would be better suited? White tile trim looks naff against it so I'll use the beige one which got me thinking about the grout colour.

Mapei Jasmine for me..they do have a new lime stone colour but not one I've tried yet..

Why did you not get an answer on grout before they went away ? If its down to you,when they come back & they dont like it, your in the poo. Id go for jasmine or similar.

or just dont grout it better safe than sorry, wait untill they get home , or maybe they will be upset thats its not grouted

I used some Bal Manilla grout the other day on some travertine and it looked really good, just dont let it dry on the stone as i can be a right mare to get off..Or i would use Mapei Jasmine.

Suppose it depends on the Travertine colour..?

Ivory travertine i use Mapei jasmine

Walnut travertine i use Mapei beige

and so on depending on colour... but i always discuss this colour choice with the customer..

used an ardex grout recently.some of the colours sound good enough to eat. traverine,usually use limestone or similiar.find ivory a bit too light

soft cream square edge trim and mapei jasmine will look good mate.
my local mapei supplier tells me that the new mapei limestone colour is hardly any different to jasmine!
but im yet to see the colour stick.

Get a couple of off cuts and stick them onto bit of tile and grout it with white grout and do the same and use Jasmine and send them a photo and see what they say.

I think it would be an injustice to do in white, I'll ring them in the morning if I can get hold of them.

Doing the whole bathroom and I didn't know what tiles they had chosen until they were delivered on day two.

Tiling has been a nightmare, would have been better to reboard as I'm on my 4th bag of addy now the walls are soo bumpy.

Sound plaster but full of hollows and mounds, over the worse now though.

Not too late as its not actually travertine, just ceramic with travertine look.

Andys (hard learned lessons) Rule 2 - Never start a tiling job before the customer has the tiles.

(Rule 1 is to make sure the customer carries the tiles upstairs before the tiler starts )

Andy8758 you're so right about customer carrying tiles upstairs. A couple of years ago did a bathroom for a customer 50x50 porcelain, 65m walls and floor in an edwardian house, 4 floors, and bathroom was in loft space. Luckily they had another room on same floor that I could mix and cut in.
