hi sam,it is possible to tile on tile but its not advised

reason being the weight of all those tiles and adhesive that you are putting on the wall, effectively the only thing holding up the 2 layers you wil lhave is the old adhesive and you cant guarantee how strong that is so especially if you have kids i woudl advise against this

also from an asthetic point ,you will no doubt come up againt obstacles etc that you may naot be able to get round so well tiling on tile

always best just to rip out and re board...the prep is an important part to a good long lasting job

This is suitable to fit tile on tile and adhesive class c2, make sure existing tiles adhere properly. It is always better to remove existing tiles.

If you do decide to go tile on tile, use only a cement based adhesive like Bal Rapid Set. As above though, you may come across obstacles like doors, windows etc. If you want to still tile on tile with your floor, bare in mind what your original subfloor is & height differences. Avoid doing the floor if you can, if not, use a 2 part flexible

Styrene Butadiene Copolymers. SBR is soooooo much easier, you will find most leading adhesive brands have there own.

NB. allways use the same brand of primer as your adhesive and as above take the old tiles off.

You obviously don't like the idea of ripping your bathroom apart so close to Christmas so are looking for a quick fix, I've tiled on wall tiles once but would not do it again and deffo not floors.

Are the walls plasterboard or solid?
