Discuss which trim in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; im going to use a steel 90 degree trim on my kitchen tiles,my tiles are 7mm thick,im using 6mm notches on nice flat walls, trim options are 8mm or 10 ...

    Default which trim

    im going to use a steel 90 degree trim on my kitchen tiles,my tiles are 7mm thick,im using 6mm notches on nice flat walls, trim options are 8mm or 10 mm,tried the tiles in trim and it sits flush in 8mm trim but then theres tile bed,10 mm has slight overhang but im not sure if the bed will fill it,Any advice guys?Thanks

    Use the 10mm with a larger notch or, try and get a 9mm trim, there are plenty available. The 8mm will be no good if the tile sits proud, that will look naff.

    ah i see, so basically allow 2mm for bed?so i would make my tile sit 1mm proud? its just been pretty difficult to find that trim in brushed steel effect lol,ill keep looking,tar

    Yeah that's about right, usually get a trim that's 2mm deeper than the tile, it's easier than having to bed all the tiles out (and you'll spend more on adhesive if you buy a trim that's too deep!)
