Expansion joint help please.
Hi chaps, any help much appreciated on this,as it could end up costly.I have a Job consisting of Approx 66M2 330x600 ceramic floor tile.It is being layed on a 65mm screed with a wet underfloor system.Im laying detrimat but I'm concerned re.expansion joints.
The job is a kitchen 4.5mx8m the customer would like the tile to run through the doorways into a hallway on the 4.5m dimension and then into a utility and plant room giving me a run of approx 10.5m.Normally I'd just put an expansion joint in the doorway but it's being tiled brick bond.Any ideas gratefully received.
It's a million pound property and they are particular(which they have every right to be)so I want/need it to be spot on.

You could use a colour match silicon for the expansion joint. It would still work with the brick bond

I'm the same as Mike, if there's no way of putting in an expansion I use a matching silicone instead

Re: Expansion joint help please.
Thanks for the replys, due to my lack of options really, the silicon was my thoughts aswell, its just the colour matching the grout that concerns me.

Re: Expansion joint help please.
All the big manufacturers do silicones to match their grout colours, the only real difference is that the silicone has a gloss finish and the grout has a matt finish, the colour match is generally very good.
