Default Homelux 9mm chrome tile edge miter

I am sure there is something I am missing and being really stupid. I have to tile around and about a window, I have tiled up to the edge of the window and now about to tile inside & about the shelf edge.

I have purchased Homelux 9mm chrome tile edge and trying to work out the miter on the 90’ corner, I have used a miter block to cut the 45’ but the two strips do not line up I just end up with a massive gap. I have made cuts at different angles, shaped the edges, but still no luck on getting a good miter edge.

I hope you can see from the picture the tile edge, I am sure this is simple but my little brain cannot work it out…

It's odd as a straight 45' cut means the slight part is slightly shorter and never matches up to the top piece. The tile edge is rounded and edge never matches up.

Thanks for the help, the blue paint will be stripped if I can every work out this cut.

    Cheers

You need to cut 45 for an internal mitre - this means standing the trim on its edge in the block rather than flat.

If you are standing it on the edge then I don't know what you're doing wrong.

Looks like the top piece is twisted/flattened some how from the photo.

The top mitre is cut with the trim laid flat.. it needs to be mitred with it on edge like you did with the other piece..

And sort that paint and mould out

the post was there....it was moderated automatically, probably due to Brendonshaw being a new member. Mods and Admin could see the post but not anyone else.

With quadrant trim it can be hitty missy with the mitre's, this is down to the shape of the quadrant, ie, they are not all true, if one is flatter than the other this will give you a longer edge, if you follow me, a bit of time spent getting them right, pull push type of thing lol.

    Good luck.

And get shot of the paint
