thanks guys for advice im still quite new to this can you recommend any certain types

I would take a lump hammer and a bolster to the highest/loosest bits. Then hoover the floor off to remove all the grip and dust, prime the floor with an acrylic primer and then SLC. Do you know which brand of adhesives/grouts you will be using?

the adhesive is mapei rapid set flexible s1 adhesive

Good adhesive. In that case, if there is a Tile Giant near you, pop in and give them the size of the room and the depth that you need to bring the floor up and they should be able to sort you out with a suitable SLC![]()

adhesives on a stone floor

do you mean concrete? have you tried an sds drill with a chisel to chip the old adhesive off?
im going to hammer bolster it used a big floor scraper didnt budge it then get ULTRAPLAN RENOVATION SCREED if i can

i sometimes use a heavy flat bar (similar to a crowbar) with a sharp tip to remove old addy, when it bluntens sharpen it on the grinder again
thanks for the advice guys its appreciated

You might get away with just SLC straight over it if there are no really high points (after priming) but you need to make sure that you get rid of any loose bit if there are any.

what primer would you suggest
You could try grinding it off, but very messy. Renovation screed is great to work with. Would use that.
