Laying slate on quarry tiles
Hi,
We are hoping to lay slate tiles on our kitchen floor which has been extended, it is currently a mixture of self leveling compound and quarry tiles and we have been advised that laying them on top of the quarry tiles would be a bad idea. Taking them up isn't really an option so we wondering if there could be a way around this? Maybe something that sits between the two sets of tiles? We don't want the floor level to raise too much though.
Any advice appreciated

Re: Laying slate on quarry tiles
If the tiles are really solid and securely fixed then no reason why not to lay on top.

Re: Laying slate on quarry tiles
The quarry tiles are part of the original kitchen (slc is the extension), we are leaving them in place because there is no damp proofing or insulation under them, they are providing this in a crude way.

Re: Laying slate on quarry tiles
Would it need a specialist adhesive to do it?
