Tileing outside
Hi I about 25m of tiles to go down on some outside steps, two other sets have been done recently and all though it looks a good job they have used aluminium nosing's with rubber tread water has got down the back of the nosing and made a real mess. do you have to use nosing's or will a straight tile edge do,just the safety issue i am thinking about can anyone help thanks

Re: Tileing outside
very risky tiling outside at this time of year mate, if the temp dips below 5deg C, could spell trouble.

As Doug has said, it's not the ideal time for tiling outside with the low temps we're getting just now. As for the trim.... What type of tile are you going to be using? If its stone or through bodied porcelain, you could groove the edge of the tread with a wet saw, so you would have no need for trim.......

I had a 40m balcony to do starting 1st October, rain put paid to that, so now it's gonna be spring before I do it.

Re: Tileing outside
Thanks for the advice Doug I was aware of the need to be sure that the temp was above 5 but was more concerned about the need for trim as it seems to be the trim that lets these jobs down rather than anything else, but I understand what your saying and may leave it till spring.thanks again
